His name is not attached to a river, but a natural monument - The Autana - as common origin myth of the ethnic groups that populate its geography: the Wöthuha or Piaroas and Guahibos or Jivi, since from the felled tree lies the trunk, but its fruit scattered in all directions, made possible the emergence of these two ethnic groups. The Mouse Carmen is the capital of the municipality, in honor of its patron saint, the Virgen del Carmen.
